Song description: In the summer of 2006 my wife and I were preparing for our one and only child to start college over 3000 miles away from home. It was a trying time for all three of us. This song was written in the midst of that mixture of anticipatory grief and breathless anticipation of watching our daughter walk into this new adventure. In the years since, the conflicting feelings of sorrow and satisfaction, fear and freedom, loss and liberation have continued to ebb and flow. The stabilizing factor for us has been the knowledge that God is watching over her and wants her to flourish in her life even more than we do.
