Song description: Years ago I read a book called “The Marks of a Christian”. It simply highlighted the defining characteristics that should be evident in the life of those who follow Jesus. As the body of Christ, we are called to exhibit these defining characteristics corporately as well as individually. The “marks” of the body of Christ refer both to His physical body and to His church. The church is the tangible representation of Christ on earth and is referred to as His body in the New Testament. Consequently, the church should reflect His character. It is a high calling, but and essential truth that we must embrace if we are to represent Jesus well. This song is an attempt to highlight this truth and inspire the church to fulfill that calling.
